Reverse osmosis systems are comprised of pre-treatment and RO main units. The pre-treatment unit filters out sediment, chlorine, and other unwanted substances before the water enters the reverse osmosis membrane. The RO main unit is the heart of the system and is where the water is purified.

The selection of RO membrane types can be customized according to the user's material and water quality requirements. RO membranes are made of high molecular materials through special processes. These process membranes allow only water molecules to pass through while rejecting solutes.

 
The RO Membrane Process

By applying high pressure with a pump, when the pressure of the feedwater on one side of the semi-permeable membrane exceeds the osmotic pressure, water molecules from the feedwater can permeate through the membrane to the other side, resulting in purified water. Dissolved and undissolved inorganic salts, heavy metal ions, organic substances, bacteria, colloids, and other substances in the feedwater cannot pass through the semi-permeable membrane and are discharged with the concentrate.
